Lisa Hertel is an artist from a long line of artists (to be continued!). She is CORI certified and can teach a variety of art techniques in her studio, including ceramics, watercolors, alcohol inks, working with wire, and classes for all ages. Lisa has been doing ceramics for most of her life; she uses green methods whenever possible. She has experience in wheel work, sculpture, and raku (a Japanese firing method), and generally uses Japanese techniques.
Although she has been painting and drawing most of her life, it wasn't until she took a watercolors class a few years ago that she found an ideal medium for color expression. In addition to watercolors, she does pen-and-ink work, using a technical pen and india ink. She also works in pencils, alcohol inks and encaustics. She likes to incorporate multiple techniques and media in her work.
Visit her at her studio, inside 145 Essex Street in Haverhill MA, conveniently located around the corner from Haverhill's arts district and right near the commuter rail.
